Motivation
The hermes pairing command manages DM authorisation. When someone messages your Hermes bot, they must be approved. Subcommands include list, approve, and revoke.
Concrete Example
A classmate messages your Telegram bot. You run hermes pairing approve alice. Now Alice can chat with your Hermes.
Analogy
Like approving a friend request. Until you accept, they cannot message you.
