Hallucination

Domain: LLM Concepts

🎯 Motivation

LLMs sometimes generate confident-sounding but false information. This is called hallucination - the model makes things up.

📋 Concrete Example

An LLM might confidently cite a research paper that doesn’t exist, or give a wrong biography of a real person. It sounds plausible but is fabricated.

🔗 Analogy

A student who didn’t study but confidently bluffs on an exam - they string together plausible-sounding sentences that sound right but are actually made up. The model doesn’t know it’s wrong.
